About Paddles for Paws
The idea for a new non-profit to help pet owners with spay and neuter costs in the Vail Valley was derived by Polly’s love for both pets and tennis. Polly Hastie, an Edwards resident and business owner, is an avid dog lover and a foster parent. Polly and her husband, Jeff have fostered numerous dogs that have been found abandoned or were in need of immediate rehoming. Polly is also a passionate tennis player and her demeanor on and off the court represent why she is loved by both teammates and animals alike.
Now having two dogs of her own, Polly and Jeff are at capacity to own more pets. Not one person can save all animals, so Polly envisioned a way to help pets in Eagle County. Polly’s non-profit, Paddles For Paws, was established in 2024 and her first tennis event and fundraiser took place in September of that year. Within 8 weeks of the event, four local families and pet owners were afforded full spay and neutered costs for their pets. And the giving hasn’t stopped there, new grant requests for spay and neuter services continue to pour in reaffirming her non-profit’s need in the Vail Valley. Funds from Paddles For Paws also help with rehoming costs and adoption fees, giving all pets the potential to find their best homes.
Paddles For Paws also wants to thank Dr. Nadine with Vail Pet Center taking such good care of the pets that come in for their spay and neuter appointments through Paddles For Paws. We couldn’t do it without her love and support for these animals.
